Made for Moments

At Yancey Seibert Shearouse Interior Design, we strive to curate a feeling, not just achieve an aesthetic. Our clients are our muses; their families the true foundation of every home we touch. We believe that the most beautiful interiors are also the most personal and use this as our guiding philosophy in designing a sanctuary for all of life's moments, both ordinary and extraordinary.

And because we know the importance of a making a good first impression, YSS Interior Design has also been entrusted with designing retail spaces, medical offices and private clubs.

While recognized for our fresh take on traditional design, we are dedicated to creating warm and welcoming environments no matter your preferred style or budget. Let’s get started on your dream project here.

Based in Augusta, Georgia, we work on both residential and commercial projects across the Southeast.

YANCEY SEIBERT SHEAROUSE, ASID

Principal Designer (NCIDQ certified)

Yancey’s distinctive design perspective was shaped by the rich architectural history of Natchez, Mississippi, where she grew up surrounded by one of the country’s most remarkable collections of preserved antebellum architecture. Inspired by the beauty and character of those historic homes, she went on to earn a degree in interior design from the University of Mississippi.

Her work quickly garnered attention, earning her recognition as an Atlanta Decorative Arts Center “One to Watch” and a nomination for ADAC’s prestigious “Rising Star” award. Yancey was also nominated for the Southeast Designers and Architect of the Year Awards in both 2024 and 2026. Her work has been featured in House Beautiful, Southern Home, Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, Georgia Design, and Southern Living. In 2025, she was invited to participate in the Cashiers Designer Showhouse, benefiting the Cashiers Historical Society.

At the heart of Yancey’s work is a highly personal and intuitive design process. Each project begins with hand-drawn, on-the-spot renderings that allow clients to envision their spaces from the very first meeting. Her expertise in space planning, building construction, and art history gives her designs a thoughtful depth and enables her to create homes that are as functional as they are beautiful.

Away from the studio, Yancey loves cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels—Hotty Toddy!—and enjoying the idyllic charm of Beaufort, South Carolina, with her husband, Scott. While in Beaufort, she can most often be found behind the wheel of her Boston Whaler. Yancey and Scott have two children, Walker and Caroline, and two beloved pups, Kate and Dixie.

CHRISTINA LAKE

Interior Designer

Christina’s love for design began early, tagging along with her parents on treasure hunts through antique shops. That childhood fascination eventually led her to Georgia Southern University, where she earned a degree in fashion merchandising and developed a natural talent for color, texture, and the art of pulling a look together.

After honing her creative eye in a variety of roles, Christina joined YSS Interior Design in 2014. Today, she oversees each project from the first spark of inspiration and initial design boards to the final, perfectly placed accessory. One of her favorite parts of the job is sourcing art for clients and finding pieces that bring personality and meaning to their homes. Along the way, her work with Yancey has inspired Christina to build an incredible art collection of her own—one of the things she treasures most about her home, aside from the family who fills it. Always searching for fresh ideas, Christina stays connected to the latest in interior design through frequent visits to ADAC and buying trips alongside Yancey.

When she isn’t bringing beautiful spaces to life, Christina can usually be found entertaining family and friends in her newly renovated kitchen or enjoying time with her husband, Brent, and their children, Ollie Kate, Evans, and Watts.

Karlie Gillen

Interior Designer

Karlie’s journey with YSS Interior Design began while earning her degree in interior design from Georgia Southern University. What started as an internship quickly led to her first professional role, and she has been an integral part of the YSS team since 2022.

As an interior designer, Karlie manages all things drapery, upholstery, and everything in between. Armed with a tape measure and a genuine love of math, she has a talent for turning precise details into beautifully finished spaces. Her favorite moment is seeing every carefully selected element come together at the end of a project. A thoughtful collaborator and excellent team player, she brings enthusiasm, skill, and a can-do spirit to everything she does.

Outside the office, Karlie loves traveling, exercising, and spending time with her close-knit family. She recently celebrated her first wedding anniversary with her husband, Aaron, and is also a devoted dog mom to Penny and Sage.

Kriston Chandler

Client Relations & Design Associate

Kriston Chandler’s career path may have led her to occupational therapy, but her love for interiors has always been part of her story. Before earning her occupational therapy degree from the Medical College of Georgia, she studied interior design at the University of Georgia—an early passion that ultimately found its way back into her professional life when she joined Yancey Seibert Interior Design in 2025.

Kriston manages new client inquiries, scheduling, and day-to-day support for the firm. A true wearer of many hats, she is always willing to step in wherever she is needed—and especially enjoys any opportunity to tap into her creative side and design alongside Yancey. Her calm presence and warm personality make everyone feel instantly at ease, earning her the affectionate title of “mom of the team.”

Kriston and her husband are settling into life as empty nesters after raising their three children, Jack, Julia, and William. They especially enjoy visiting Athens, where two of their children attend the University of Georgia. When she isn’t keeping the YSS team organized, spending time with her family, or dreaming up beautiful spaces, Kriston loves being in the kitchen baking something delicious.

Kayle King

Design Associate

Kayle King first joined Yancey Seibert Interior Design in 2019, bringing with her a degree in marketing from Georgia Southern University. While her growing family has called her away for a few seasons, she always seems to find her way back to YSS—and we are always happy when she does.

As a design associate, Kayle helps keep countless details, deadlines, and moving parts on track. Her organization, attention to detail, and team-first attitude make her an invaluable part of every project. She also keeps the office laughing—and can usually be found with a snack nearby and a freshly filled 40-ounce cup of water within reach.

Outside of YSS, Kayle enjoys spending time with her husband, Stephen; their three children, Madeline, Tripp, and Logan; and their beloved yellow Lab, Mary Alice. Her creativity also shines through her Instagram account, Très Chic Antiques, and her exciting new needlepoint business currently in the works. A devoted—and unapologetically proud—homebody, Kayle is happiest surrounded by her family, her latest creative project, and all the comforts of home.

Alison Hodges

Bookkeeper

After earning her degree from Clemson University, Alison spent 20 years building a successful career in corporate America before joining Yancey Seibert Shearouse Interior Design in 2026.

As the firm’s bookkeeper, Alison keeps the YSS team on track in the world of numbers. Her talents extend well beyond balancing the books—she has also played an important role in developing policies and procedures that keep the office organized and running smoothly. With her thoughtful approach, wealth of experience, and keen attention to detail, Alison has quickly become an invaluable part of the team.

Alison and her husband, Greg, live in a lovely home that YSS had the pleasure of helping bring to life—from the initial plans through move-in day. An avid tennis player, Alison also enjoys entertaining, traveling, and cooking with Greg. They are the proud parents of two beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Birdie and Clyde.
